I just want to update about the last situation in Jalan Kaca, as per 24 August 2008, government has just demolished illegal home in Jalan Kaca. Yes, we understand that People in Jalan Kaca live illegally in that land, and at any time government can demolish their home. But as another demolishment in Jakarta, the government has no solution especially for 4000 people impacted by the demolishment

We believe right now people in Jalan Kaca really need Band Aid program after the razed. Because If the people in Jalan kaca is not helped, then surely there will be a bleeding of social disaster in Jalan kaca. Therefore, we from Cross Project Ministry worked together with Diakonia Gereja Kristus Yesus Jemaat Sunter will distribute aid materials to jalan Kaca. From Cross Project Ministry, we will focus on providing milk to children.

We had distributed 157 box of “ideal” Milk to help housewives in Jalan Kaca through Diakonia GKY Sunter. We still focused on distributing milk, because we afraid that this area is unnoticed. Any other aid such as instant noodle, temporary shelter, sugar, eggs, etc is provided by Diakonia GKY sunter. Please see the picture from 2 media (kompas dan detik.com). and a link from SCTV
